Details
Pelardon is a goat’s milk cheese from the Languedoc-Rousssillon region(south of France) and has been around for over twenty centuries . It’s a soft round cheese that weighs approximately 180g with an affinage that last a minimum of eleven(11) days. The herds of goat are fed in natural open spaces to maximise the quality of the milk, therefore the delicate taste of the cheese itself. Since the year 2000 it has acquire the AOC badge which guarantees a consistent quality and taste. At France Gourmet we have chosen the Pelardon from a particular farm called Saveurs fermieres. M. Vincent( owner/farmer) has a strong passion for his work and as dedicated his career in making sure that every single cheese that is produced at the farm has an exceptional quality for the sole satisfaction of the customers.
Tasting : Pelardon is delicious on its own with some red wine from Languedoc but surprisingly goes also well with some dry white wine from the same region. Another suggestion will be to panfry it for a minute on a thin layer of olive oil before placing it on a crisp salad, garnished with some sundried tomatoes…
Bon appetit!!!
*Affinage: Maturating
